Welcome to my site!
I would like to thank all of the people who have watched the video about downloading a movie from Tudou.
People have commented about it from all over the world and I feel blessed that other people have received some value from it.
Truth be told…I didn’t even think I was going to even post the video.
I had originally made the video for my aunt who asked if I knew how to watch tv shows and movies off of the internet.
Being pretty internet savvy, I of course said I knew how. In fact, the internet is where I watch all of my media. I rarely even watch television anymore, unless there is a real big event going on…like the Academy Awards, a good playoff basketball game, or an exciting UFC event and other such programs.
However, I can go to my friends place to watch all of those events if I wanted to anyways, or even the local bar.
So, there really isn’t a good reason for me to have cable or satellite television at my house.
I can still catch all of the shows and movies that I want and stay up to date with them. I don’t have to be out of the loop. In fact, I probably watch more than ever!
That’s probably a bad thing. I watch too much now, so I spend less time studying and keeping productive…hehe.
Now, let me get back to the video…
The whole reason I even created it was so my aunt could watch all of her favorite dramas on her television. A friend of her’s gave her a website
link that had many online shows. My aunt told me if there is any way she could watch her dramas on her television. And I don’t blame her…
If she was spending about 2.5 hours a day – like she told me – watching videos on her 19″ monitor, while sitting on an outdated, non-reclining computer chair,
I would imagine she would want to at least be slightly comfortable.
Now, I told her that it is possible for her to download videos on the internet and have them play on her television.
You wouldn’t believe the look on her face when I said it was actually possible. Her face really brightened up.
However, in the back of mind I was thinking about the downsides to watching online videos on her TV. I asked her if her computer was near her TV. I was thinking she could simply hook up AV cables from her PC to her TV
and watch everything on the big screen. It’s a simple solution, but her computer is on the upstairs floor. Too bad, it’s really a shame.
So, I asked her if she had a DVD player. I could burn copies of shows onto dvds. That would enable her to watch all of her programs. And if they were in an .avi format, I could compress them really good and fit a whole bunch of programs onto it. That would give her entertainment for hours.
But, that takes a bit of effort doing all that, as you may have guessed.
Unfortunately, she said she doesn’t have a DVD player. To be honest, I was a bit shocked. You can pick one up at any electronic store or even Walmart for like $30-$40 bucks. They could be even cheaper, I don’t know, I haven’t gone to an electronic store in a while. I but all of my stuff online. You can really save a lot of money when you purchase stuff from the internet. You just have to know where to get it.
Although she didn’t have a DVD player, she told me that she had a Karaoke player. Wow! I didn’t expect that…
…Yeah, she told me that and I immediately thought of the karaoke players that I had looked at last month at a mall I went to.
I do remember that I saw a USB port on most of them.
So now, I had the idea of putting the TV and movies onto a USB memory stick.
Maybe that’ll work. It could work out really well.
All that my aunt would have to do is stick in one of the spare memory sticks that I have lying around my office into her karaoke player and she would be able to be entertained on her 52″ TV. It seems a whole lot better than being crunched up in her tiny, office chair.
So, what I did was create a video where I showed how she could grab some of the media she watched online, and make it so she could watch it on her TV.
I love my aunt and all, but when it comes to computers and technology, let’s just say that she doesn’t like to deal with it too much. I understand her perfectly because it is a lot to deal with, especially when some online sites are changing so fast…it’s really hard to keep up.
Now, if you notice in my video I showed how to put the videos on a USB stick. I then said to put the memory stick in the Karaoke player and email me if you had any questions.
That was confusing for a lot of people. “Karaoke machine?? Huhhh?”
Well, some people private messaged me and asked me more about it.
As I have already told you, as some of you still may not yet have realized, the video was just for my aunt. I just decided to post it on youtube. It was actually on private, but for some reason she couldn’t access it still…something to do with
her browser, at least that’s what I thought at first. But after I played around with the video and adjusted the settings, I turned it on to ‘public’ and finally she was able to see it.
Ok, so now you know…no more questions about the karaoke player. Hehe, just kidding. Send your questions all you want. It was quite funny getting those messages.
Anyways, people still asked questions about the video converter I was using.
To make it absolutely clear, I was using the AVS Video Converter.
You can find it by using the link below.
You can download a demo copy and try it out without paying for anything. I’m pretty sure you will be able to convert all of your videos, but only for a certain amount of time. I’m not too sure since I already have a full working copy of it from before.
But if you are even thinking of registering yourself a copy, they are having a great deal right now.
You can buy a 1 year access or an unlimited subscription, meaning you get the video converter and a bunch of other free tools, plus support. They are selling it for a very reasonable price…especially for all that it does.
Let me tell you, if you are thinking about buying it, just know that I have been using it for over 2 years and I have never had a problem with it.
I’ve gone out and bought other video converters and there were always some things I didn’t like about them. Always some feature that was missing, or an ugly interface that I hated.
All I can tell you is that the AVS Video Converter has to be the best video converter I have used.
I use it at least three times a week. As you may have guessed, I convert a lot of videos. I especially find it convenient to convert videos to play on my Ipod. And if you have a Blackberry or an Android phone you can convert videos to watch on them as well. I think you can even put videos on your Sony PSP and other mp3/video players.
So, if you have a long commute to school or work, and you watch a lot of shows as you travel along, this software would be great to have.
I know that it works well for me and it does everything I want it to do.
It’s a simple solution that just works quick and easy.
So for those of you asking for the video converter I recommend,
it’s this one:
Have fun watching your shows.
**But don’t blame me if you get hooked on any dramas…I know they are very addicting. hehe.
